Tech Love

The recent trend that has not just caught my attention but the wider audience (you guys) is the acquisition bug. Here’s an article that entails the recent and major acquisitions. Just quickly for those that love to skim read instead of clicking a link… eBay acquires Stumbleupon $75m, Google acquires Panoramio, CBS acquires Last.FM $280m and Fox acquires Photobucket and Flektor. (links all in the URL)

Australia…far away from everyone and everywhere…but still in the groove, or should I say ‘down with the 411′ LOL Here’s the top 60 web apps 2.0 in Australia. I was rather impressed and surprised at the list~

This issue has come up before, Youtube being banned in countries…here’s a list of countries + map that have banned Youtube…Victoria?? WTF?!

I covered Entropia in a previous post (link), but here’s some sweet news, Entropia’s coming to China! It says in the article also that Second Life was in the running but got pwned…lol I like the sound of Entropia better anyways…

Lifestyle Lessons

Now Guy Kawasaki’s blog -  is a blog I admire and always love to check out, here’s a great excerpt from his blog about the 9 biggest myths of the workplace. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

Being bullied? Know how to handle the bully by being in the know with the 411 (LOL sorry sorry sorry) I personally would take up kickboxing so you can pwn them like todays clip!

Surface Computer?! Map wars! SL not so hot, Apple ain’t cool with MySpace

Mid-week it is! We got a lot to cover so let’s roll out the red carpet for your textual nirvana!!!

Tech Love

Microsoft has announced its Surface Computer…”Microsoft Surface.” No idea what a surface computer is? A Surface computer is able to recognize physical objects and allows hands-on, direct control of content such as photos, music and maps. Surface turns an ordinary tabletop into a dynamic surface that provides interaction with all forms of digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects.

The new product is aimed directly at hotels, retail establishments, restaurants and public entertainment venues and should be commercially available towards the end of the year. Checked out the video clip and was rather impressed! Pong anyone?

After yesterday’s post on Microsoft Live’s 3D maps…Google has come back with Google maps WITH 360 streetside views!!! I took a tour of New York again but on the street level today and really had a blast. Can’t wait to check out NYC one day…unless someone out there comes up with a super great innovation before I actually get there~ Maybe on World of Warcraft hehe

Now I know how much the media loves Second Life and how awesome it is for people and marketing activities and so on…Here’s another heartbreaker for them, here’s the real-life picture (I laugh I laugh) of what’s actually happening to these big names in the SL environment.

Apple ain’t such a big fan of MySpace? Interesting…well basically apple stores allow people to try out and tinker with their products, but when people rock up to check their MySpace…they decide to take their freakin time taking photos, commenting and basically not letting others test the machines…which has resulted in MySpace being banned in Apple stores. *Chortle chortle*

Lifestyle

Keep your fave foods fresh! Here’s a clip for closing chip bags without the clip! And how to keep cookies fresh with bread??!!!

Today’s pic is…how to promote fights! Wish Don King had known this ages ago!

Enjoy!

Myspace vs Facebook round 2!New York in 3d, Song writing2.0

A totally crazy Tuesday…the rain is pounding the wind is howling outside…I’m inside and still cold! To be in the Northern Hemisphere would be nice!

Tech Love

Yesterday’s post was slightly in favor of MySpace, but shazam! Here’s an article that is totally in favor of Facebook (with great arguments mind you) and takes MySpace’s fire straight up! Well my view is now feeling rather daft…I guess widgets are a lot more cooler than ‘Geocity-esque’ layouts~ LOL

Now we all love Google Maps and love to write off Microsoft’s comebacks to many things really…but is this a win?  Microsoft has announced for Microsoft Live Search Maps; that there will be three-dimensional, photo-realistic maps covering New York City and 8 other locations in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. The other cities are…Austin, Cape Coral (Florida), Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Northampton (UK), Ottawa, Savannah and Tampa. More cities worldwide will be added to the service during the northern summer. Not too shabby there Bill!

JamJunky is a new startup that is a place for song writers to write their lyrics, upload songs in progress and share them with friends. Artists can also write notes about their work.Friends log in and view the work and comment on it blog-style. The artist can then incorporate feedback into the song. This sounds lame unless you’re a ghost-writer and you gots to get paiiiidddd~ but other than that it’s a cool place to store you’re songs…so it’s the advantages and disadvantages knock each other out…so it’s OK…not great…OK.

Facebook better? Star Wars Stamp!! ZDnet Twitter~~cheep!

Ah the new week beginneth and so doeth my inner yearning to create an awesome blog to kick off the week!

Tech Love

Now everyone these days is Facebook this, Facebook that…well after Facebook’s super sumo sized statement that they are the social utility to be…I came upon this argumentative blog on ZDNet comparing Myspace to Facebook! A lot of very valid points that give readers both sides of the coin. It really questions the ‘openness’ of Facebook and how social it’s layers lie. I’m slightly falling for MySpace, although I do enjoy facebook’s functionality, layout…etc…damnit! Integrate MySpace’s database of profiles to make uber MyFaceSpace (copyright) you fools!

On the other hand here are some cool facts about Facebook

Not only has Starwars planned to release animated flicks, they’re releasing Yoda stamps in the States!!! A whole set to send random people annoying games that suck on the PS2 that I need! BAHH!!! someone blow up the Dragonball games series please! I wish I could fireball…

ZDnet has a Twitter???!!! Check it out~ it’s very kewl. Keeps me up to date with all the cool views, blogs, articles, reviews they come out with!
