It’s been a while since we’ve heard about the OLPC (one laptop per child aka $100 laptop) project, well here’s an article on the progress of the OLPC and Intel’s small ruckus they had as Intel had  similar product in the market in the low $200s…Supposedly they are now all good with each other and had face to face meetings even went out to say they had ‘joined forces’.

I meet people that use Engrish on a daily basis so here’s a  great way to minimise Engrish worldwide or hey learn another language! It’s called xlingo and its basically a community for the exchange of foreign languages. Sounds like fun? Then get going!

A super duper great app/site I happened to stumble upon was Chatmaker.net it’s a site that basically makes you a virtual chatroom you and friends can get onto if all of you don’t have Instant Messaging but have internet (Noob alert)…

Virtual worlds! MyMiniLife, OLPC, Improve your Speech

It’s a new week again…

Pretty chuffed (happy/ proud) that I finally finished God of War last night (PS2 game) LOL. Now to embark on my adventures in Final Fantasy on the GBA!!! Onto the real stuff!!

 Tech Love

Virtual Worlds according to GigaOM is set to flourish to 50 million by 2011, which basically means 80% of internet users will have a ‘second life’ but not necessarily Second Life LOL as the article suggest the best of virtual worlds is yet to come.

An interesting find today…Techcrunch’s article on a new embeddable virtual world called….. MyMiniLife. MyMiniLife is a Flash based virtual world/social network. Users create and customize a character and then build out a virtual space, adding walls, floors, doors, windows, etc. Users can then add customized goods ranging from lamps to cannons to the space, and embed video or photo elements into items, or link to web pages…looks like the Sims but not as cool as the Sims…yet or will it?

Here’s an article that discusses the progress of the OLPC in Uruguay….Really shows some positive steps towards the OLPC (one laptop per child) project one day although slow, becoming a reality.

Lifestyle

Ever felt like you had the annoying squeeky voice of Beckham and just didn’t want to say nothing so you don’t ruin your image? LOL Or even felt like your voice doesn’t justify the cans of whoopass you dish out to people who are dumb enough to annoy you?

Here’s how to improve your voice and speech!

Today’s theme is….fanboys!

I know this is a touchy subject but please enjoy the pics and I’m sure someone…just someone will kill me tomorrow….

Here’s a link to a plethora of great fanboy pics!

Awesome!

I must admit I was rather impressed and a little excited by this entry! Second Life has always been in the lime light due its model, high profile companies and exuberant figures. But Entropia definitely sounds cool, similar to SLit adds first person shooters, missions (if SL had missions it would be awesome), a story line which means a better reason to be…I personally believe this is a nice entry to the market. Check the clip provided on the link. Bad narration and English but still awesome.

Now here’s a nice little addition to the following for the OLPC, the OLPC video channel which broadcasts all things OLPC and the progress being made. Nice.

So which countries have internet censorship? Here’s an interesting read from Yahoo! on countries that block websites.

Lifestyle

So are you sitting at home, there’s a black out and you wish your bloody torch was more powerful? Never fear DIY is here! A short video that shows you how to mod your pissy torch into an annoyingly bright one! Hurray!

Today’s pics are…all about Lil Jon and Rick James. (cussing is involved so please don’t click unless you choose to be offended) hehe

Enjoy!

igoogle!! iPhone haters?! My ceiling hurts, OLPC moves forward!

ahh, Wednesday says it’s the middle of the week.

Quick Rant – Well i got in a bit of a shock today, was planning my flight on virginblue yesterday and found a cheap flight….unfortunately when i went to buy it, it had doubled!! GRR!!!

TECH LOVE

Once again micropersuasion has got an awesome read today! The article talks about iGoogle the personalized homepage on google and the future potential services and advertising opportunities that may emerge through the further personalization of iGoogle by its users.

So a survey was conducted to perceive the customer outlook on the release of the iphone and the results to many (not all mind you) were surprising. Only 6% of people said that they would buy one, the argument however is that 6% market share in the cell phone industry is quite sizeable. Your call!

An article discussing the progression of the OLPC (one laptop per child) and that production will be upped 400,000 in September.

Ever felt like the higher the ceiling the greater your creativity? Well kick the stars and call me a leprechaun, your instincts were right! Check the link above to find out how the ceiling height affects your creativity and focus.

Do you like my new formatted style? 🙂 Todays theme goes to…..pissed off cats! (cat photos are sooo coooool)
